New headquarters
Jonas & Redmann has fully moved into its new headquarters in Berlin. The company opened the new headquarters on November 20, 2020. Barbro Dreher, State Secretary of the Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises, Oliver Igel, Mayor of Treptow-Köpenick, Dr. Stefan Franzke, Managing Director of Berlin Partner GmbH, and representatives of the companies and banks involved in the project congratulated Stefan Jonas & Lutz Redmann on this milestone.
The Berlin-based mechanical engineering company Jonas & Redmann has set up its headquarters in the Berlin Brandenburg airport region. The newly built production and office space is located on a 23,000 square metre site in the Berlin district of Treptow-Köpenick, Johannistal. The location was officially opened on November 20, 2020. Production had already started in July 2020 on 8,000 square metres of hall space.
Jonas & Redmann has invested 25 million euros in a new company headquarters with production halls. The building project was accepted on schedule in October 2020. Exactly one week before the company’s 31st anniversary, on 20 November 2020, the new headquarters of the Jonas & Redmann Group will be officially opened. The entire staff, 400 employees, have moved into their new workplaces.
In future, the company’s skilled workers will work at Segelfliegerdamm 65 in buildings which are optimally designed for the development and production of equipment for high-tech industries – such as medical technology, photovoltaics and energy storage technology. The company’s development and engineering departments are now efficiently linked to the production and storage areas. The building is tailored in every respect to the requirements of modern industrial production.
Barbro Dreher, State Secretary of the Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises: “The inauguration of the new company headquarters is good news not only for the company but also for Berlin as a business location. Our city needs this entrepreneurial spirit even in the crisis. Therefore we, as the State of Berlin, will continue to ensure good framework conditions”.
The managing directors and owners, Stefan Jonas and Lutz Redmann, have had construction company Goldbeck build a complete infrastructure. The costs and deadlines were maintained throughout the entire project. The production halls and the administration building were supplemented, for example, by a multi-storey car park, secured and roofed bicycle boxes and charging stations for electric vehicles.
The buildings are designed to meet high standards of energy efficiency and sustainability – heating is provided by district heating from efficient combined heat and power generation, the electricity consumed is consistently green, i.e. it is obtained from renewable energy sources, and intensive greening of the large hall and office roofs makes an additional contribution to the positive ecological balance.
Lutz Redmann, Co-Managing Director Jonas & Redmann Group GmbH: “Jonas & Redmann is the expert when it comes to fully automated processes and interlinking tools in high-tech industries. The region around our location is booming and we too are optimistic about the coming year”.
So the location itself is a plus point. Jonas & Redmann is internationally active. The new company address offers an excellent environment. Jonas & Redmann sees the proximity to the Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) “Willy Brandt”, the neighbouring companies in the Adlershof Technology Park and, last but not least, the settlement of the electric car manufacturer Tesla in nearby Grünheide as plus points.
Stefan Jonas, Co-Managing Director Jonas & Redmann Group GmbH: „We have decided on a promising location. And from the very first day, the working environment for our skilled workers is fully improved”
